My client is an industry leader within the Fluid Power sector having been established over 40 years they have concreted themselves as one of the largest distributors of fluid power products in the UK, supplying various industries.

They are now looking to add Internal Workshop Engineers to their engineering team.

In this role you will be assembling Hydraulic Power Units and being responsible for the building, testing and preparing of hydraulic systems based on engineering drawings from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assembly and fabrication of HPUs, components including pumps, motors, valves, filters based on engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Route, cut, bend and install hydraulic tubing and hoses.
  • Set up and conduct pressure and leak testing on test rigs using specific instruments EG gauges and flow meters.
  • Document all records accurately – build and test results.
  • Perform various tasks including mechanical fastening, aligning components and preparing Hydraulic Power Systems based on specific pressure and flow needs.
  • Ensure the workshops meets required HSE standards.
  • To apply you must have
  • Good understanding of hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, cylinders and accumulators.
  • Confident reading complex hydraulic designs and mechanical drawings.
  • Previous experience working as a hydraulic technician/ fitter or similar workshop role.
  • Experience working with hand tools, tube bending and assembling hydraulic hoses.
  • Fork lift licence is beneficial.
  • MIG or TIG welding experience.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbally
