Overview
As Refrigeration HVAC Project Engineer, you take technical ownership of industrial refrigeration projects, guiding design reviews, site interactions and commissioning. You will act as the primary technical contact for project and site teams, ensuring compliance with design intent, quality and safety standards. You’ll tackle complex engineering challenges and support handover, collaborating with design, project, site and commissioning groups. This role offers hands-on problem solving across UK projects with a practical, cross-functional impact.

Responsibilities
- Take technical ownership of industrial refrigeration projects across delivery
- Act as a key technical contact for project and site teams
- Review refrigeration designs, drawings and technical specifications
- Provide technical guidance to engineers, contractors and subcontractors
- Review equipment selections and verify installation aligns with design
- Attend project sites and technical meetings as required
- Support testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover
- Ensure projects meet technical, quality and safety standards
Key requirements
- Strong technical background in industrial refrigeration and/or heavy commercial/industrial HVAC
- Experience on technically complex engineering projects
- Knowledge of ammonia (NH3) and/or CO₂ refrigeration advantageous
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong fault-finding and technical problem-solving ability
- Confident working with clients, engineers, contractors and suppliers
- Experience in food manufacturing, production, cold storage, distribution or process environments beneficial
