Our client, a well-established heavy engineering company, is seeking an experienced CNC Elgamill Setter/Operator/Programmer to join their night shift machine shop team.
This is a permanent opportunity offering excellent earning potential within a specialist heavy engineering environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming a CNC Elgamill machining centre, producing medium to large engineering components to customer specifications.
The machine operates using Fanuc controls, and candidates must be capable of programming directly from engineering drawings.
Experience using CIMCO CAD/CAM or Autodesk Fusion for offline programming would be highly advantageous.
Working within a heavy engineering environment, the successful candidate will manufacture large fabrications, castings, and precision-machined components while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting, operating, and programming a CNC Elgamill machining centre.
- Programming directly from engineering drawings using Fanuc controls.
- Producing medium to heavy engineering components to customer specifications.

- Selecting suitable tooling, workholding methods, cutting conditions, and machining strategies.

- Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections using manual measuring equipment.
- Ensuring all components meet required tolerances and quality standards.
- Maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient working environment.
- Supporting production requirements and completing overtime when required.

- Proven experience setting, operating, and programming CNC milling machines.
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc control systems.
- Ability to program directly from engineering drawings.
- Experience machining medium to large engineering components within a heavy engineering environment.
- Experience working with large fabrications and castings.
- Strong understanding of tooling, machining strategies, feeds, speeds, and tolerances.
- Ability to inspect own work using manual measuring equipment.
- Experience using CIMCO CAD/CAM or Autodesk Fusion for offline programming would be advantageous.
- A flexible approach with the willingness to work overtime when required.

- 4 x 12-hour shifts

- Night shift paid at T+1/3 (time and a third).
- Additional overtime available on Fridays after 13:00, Saturdays, and Sundays.
- Overtime paid at T+1/2 (time and a half).
