Field Service Engineer

Salary: £38,000 – £40,000 + Overtime
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
We're working with a well-established specialist engineering business that supplies, installs and maintains Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS ) for customers across a wide range of industries.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to add a Field Service Engineer to their team, covering customers throughout the region with occasional wider UK travel.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Engineer who enjoys fault-finding, working independently and dealing directly with customers.
The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of sophisticated automated storage systems at customer sites.
Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out inspections and preventative maintenance on automated storage systems
Completing annual servicing and routine maintenance
Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults
Responding to breakdowns and providing effective technical support
Supporting system upgrades and software updates
Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new equipment
Providing customers with technical support and product guidance
Completing service reports and documentation accurately
Managing your own diary, travel and workload
Building strong relationships with customers and representing the business professionally
Developing specialist knowledge of ASRS equipment and technology
About You
We're interested in speaking with Engineers from a range of backgrounds, particularly multi-skilled, with strong electrical and mechanical capabilities.
You should be:
Hands-on and technically minded
Confident with fault-finding and problem-solving
Comfortable working independently at customer sites
Customer-focused with good communication skills
Organised and able to manage your own workload
Proactive and willing to learn specialist equipment
