A well-established specialist within the lighting and electrical sector is seeking a motivated Field Service Engineer to join its growing technical team. The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out installation support, commissioning, maintenance, fault-finding, and technical service work across a range of lighting and electrical systems. The position is primarily focused on North London, although engineers may be required to support projects throughout Greater London as business needs dictate. Additional travel across surrounding counties, including Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Oxfordshire, will also form part of the role. Applicants must be comfortable driving regularly into London and travelling throughout the wider region. Occasional overnight stays may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commissioning and maintenance of lighting control systems, including wired, wireless, and DALI solutions
  • Fault finding, repairs, and technical support on customer sites
  • Carrying out inspections, testing, and electrical maintenance activities
  • Providing a high standard of customer service and technical expertise
  • Supporting installation contractors and end users where required
  • Completing service documentation and reports accurately and professionally
  • Managing workload effectively across multiple sites and locations

Candidate Requirements

  • Electrical or lighting industry background
  • Experience in lighting maintenance, commissioning, contracting, or field service engineering
  • Strong hands-on technical and fault-finding abilities
  • Professional, reliable, and customer-focused approach
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout London and surrounding counties
  • Willingness to stay away from home occasionally when required

  • 18th Edition (City & Guilds 2382)
  • Inspection & Testing qualification (City & Guilds 2391)
  • ECS Card

Candidates with partial qualifications or relevant industry experience will still be considered, provided they are willing to undertake further training and professional development.
