Overview: My client is a well-established vehicle dealership and service centre seeking experienced HGV Mechanics to join their workshop team. The role covers a broad range of work, from routine servicing and inspections through to advanced diagnostics, engine repairs, and MOT preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and safety inspections on HGVs.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults.
- Undertake engine repairs, gearbox work, and driveline repairs.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure compliance with DVSA standards.
- Complete all job cards and workshop documentation accurately.
- Work to manufacturer guidelines and workshop health & safety standards.
- Support junior technicians where required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an HGV / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic.
- Relevant qualification (NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent).
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous but not essential).
