Job Title: Technical Support Engineer (Internal)Location: BanburySalary: £30,000 – £40,000 (depending on experience)Benefits: 25 days holiday, pension scheme, office hours 8:45–4:45, potential for hybrid/remote working after probation

About the Role

We are looking for an inquisitive and hands-on Technical Support Engineer with an electrical engineering background to join our client, a leading manufacturer of packaging machinery.

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, troubleshooting, and supporting complex machinery builds. You’ll be working closely with R&D, Production, and Test departments, providing technical support across the full build phase of capital equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support internal teams (R&D, Production, Test) with technical queries throughout machinery build and commissioning.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Perform wiring and hands-on electrical work when required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machinery issues during the build and test phases.
  • Set up and maintain test rigs for validation and fault-finding.
  • Update and maintain technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers to support new and existing machine development.
  • Engage with software elements of machinery control systems, with opportunities to grow skills in this area.

About You

  • Background in electrical engineering (apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or degree level).Not essential but preferred
  • Confident in reading electrical drawings and carrying out electrical wiring tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
  • Practical, hands-on approach to supporting machinery builds.
  • Curious and eager to learn, with an interest in software and control systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
