The Role
As Commercial Operations Manager, you will oversee and coordinate commercial operations with a focus on sustainable growth, profitability, and high-quality service delivery. Working closely with senior leadership and reporting to the Service Director, you will provide commercial insight at a strategic level while ensuring operational delivery remains aligned with the organisation's long-term objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading commercial operations to support growth and profitability
- Monitoring revenue recovery, margins, and cost performance
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities across contracts and customer accounts
- Supporting the development of commercial strategies, customer proposals, and framework agreements
- Strengthening long-term customer relationships through effective commercial management
- Providing commercial insight and recommendations to senior leadership to support decision-making
- Driving continuous improvement in commercial processes and operational performance
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in a commercial, operational, or facilities management role, ideally within an engineering, manufacturing, or service environment
- Strong financial and analytical capability, including experience with pricing, quotations, contracts, reporting, budgeting, and margin management
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
- The ability to interpret financial information and apply it to commercial decisions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience using ERP, service management, or commercial systems
- HND qualification or equivalent, including English and Mathematics
- A qualification in Business Studies, Commercial Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- A relevant professional qualification (or working towards one)
- A full UK driving licence
