A leading building controls specialist is seeking an experienced BMS Small Works Manager to manage small works and upgrade projects across London and surrounding regions. This role requires strong leadership capability, technical expertise in BMS, and proven experience delivering multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of BMS engineers, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
- Oversee day-to-day operations including workload planning, prioritisation and team performance.
- Conduct regular internal progress meetings and provide operational updates.
- Manage small works projects from planning through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact.
- Attend client meetings to discuss requirements and provide technical support.
- Prepare quotations and proposals in collaboration with the sales division.
- Support with BMS design input, upgrade strategies and solution development.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, health & safety and industry regulations.
Experience Required:
- Strong understanding of HVAC plant and building services.
- Hands-on experience with BMS systems such as Trend, Tridium, Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider or similar.
- Proven experience managing engineers or leading technical teams.
- Background in delivering small works, upgrades or lifecycle projects.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Commercial awareness with experience producing quotations or supporting sales functions.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Electrical, Mechanical, Controls or Building Services engineering qualification.
- Manufacturer training on major BMS platforms.
- IOSH / SMSTS or similar H&S certification.
- Project management qualification is beneficial.
Additional Information:
- Regular travel to the Colchester office is required as part of this role.
