An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a growing packaging machinery business supporting customers across the UK, Ireland, and occasionally overseas.
Location: Swindon (Surrounding areas)
Salary: £38,000 – £50,000 + Overtime + Paid Travel Time

This role is ideal for an engineer with strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills who enjoys customer-facing work, travel, and working on high-spec automated machinery.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, and breakdown support of packaging machinery lines. Key responsibilities include:
- Installation and commissioning of packaging machinery
- Fault finding and technical support on customer sites
- Operator and technical training
- Service and breakdown response
- Preparing service kits and parts ahead of jobs
- Supporting machine testing and workshop builds when required
- Maintaining excellent customer relationships
- Providing feedback and technical updates to management
- Participation in on-call service rota
Requirements
- A recognised Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship
- Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic knowledge
- Basic PLC understanding (no programming required)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage travel commitments
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving licence and valid passport
Note - Travel across the UK and Ireland is expected, with occasional overseas travel for training and customer support.
