OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mobile Plant Fitter to join our team. Based in Reading and covering a 30-mile radius, this role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of plant machinery, including rollers, dumpers, compressors, telehandlers, and excavators up to 15 tons. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of plant machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and any additional requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service while working on-site at client locations.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient scheduling and completion of tasks.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, Mobile Plant Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of plant machinery, including rollers, dumpers, compressors, telehandlers, and excavators.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Full UK driving license.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Day-to-Day
- Travel to client sites within a 30-mile radius of Reading to perform maintenance and repairs.
- Inspect and assess machinery to identify issues and recommend solutions.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to carry out fault-finding and repairs.
- Liaise with clients to provide updates on work progress and any additional requirements.
- Maintain the company-provided van, ensuring it is stocked with necessary tools and parts.
- Complete all required documentation, including service reports and timesheets.
