We are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Technician to join our vehicle maintenance team. The role involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy-duty vehicles to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy vehicles and associated equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance in accordance with legal and company standards.
  • Prepare vehicles for MOTs and carry out safety checks.
  • Maintain accurate service logs and complete job documentation.
  • Collaborate with the workshop team to minimise vehicle downtime.

Candidate Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with HGVs, waste/refuse vehicles, or similar plant machinery.
  • Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently in a busy workshop environment while following safety procedures.
  • Full UK driving licence; HGV licence is advantageous but not required.
