Location: Northampton
Salary/Package: £48,000 - £52,000, or a considerable OTE, Door to Door Travel Time, Car or Van/Fuel card, No call out or standby needed, OT available & Career progression.
Job Purpose: To service and maintain commercial and industrial gas-fired equipment, including Steam Boilers, Radiant Tube Heaters and Process Heating Systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operation across customer sites. These sites are based in locations that include Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and a small amount of Essex.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out installation, servicing, and maintenance of industrial and commercial gas systems.
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs on boilers, burners, and combustion systems.
- Ensure that the Steam Boiler Systems run smoothly and are regularly monitored.
- Conduct commissioning of new equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
- Perform gas safety inspections in line with current UK regulations.
- Complete all relevant documentation, service reports, and certification accurately.
- Provide technical support and advice to customers on-site.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Work collaboratively with internal engineering and technical teams.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience working with industrial gas appliances and combustion systems.
- Must have a strong technical knowledge of Steam Boilers.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of commercial/industrial boiler systems.
- Understanding of UK gas safety regulations.
Desirable:
- Experience with steam boilers and thermal fluid systems.
- Electrical knowledge (controls, PLC basics).
- Experience working in field service environments.
Qualifications & Certifications:
- ACS Commercial Gas Qualifications (current).
- Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent) preferred but not essential.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
