My client is a well-established commercial vehicle dealership and service centre seeking experienced HGV Mechanics to join their workshop team. The role covers a broad range of work, from routine servicing and inspections through to advanced diagnostics, engine repairs, and MOT preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and safety inspections on HGVs
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults
- Undertake engine repairs, gearbox work, and driveline repairs
- Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure compliance with DVSA standards
- Complete all job cards and workshop documentation accurately
- Work to manufacturer guidelines and workshop health & safety standards
- Support junior technicians where required
Requirements
- Previous experience as an HGV / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic
- Relevant qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous but not essential)
