Position Title: Channel Development Manager

Reporting To: Head of Channel

Location: UK (Remote/Flexible) Regular travel across the UK and occasional visits to the head office in York are required.

Salary: £34,000-£40,000

Car Allowance: £3,500

Holidays: 23 days plus Bank Holidays and increases with service

Pension: 4% and increases with service

Group Life Insurance (2x annual salary)

As they continue to grow, they are looking for a motivated and experienced Channel Development Manager to join their expanding team.

Role Overview

In this key role, you will drive the growth of my client's Mobile and IoT offerings by expanding and developing a strong network of channel partners. Your primary objective is to grow revenue and market share through strategic, long-term partnerships. You'll work closely with partners to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions that deliver value on both sides.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with channel partners, identifying cross-sell and up-sell opportunities. Collaborate with partners on joint business plans aimed at expanding their use of my client's products and services. Monitor partner performance and take proactive steps to drive growth, reduce churn, and maximise value.
  • New Partner Acquisition: Identify and onboard new channel partners to extend market presence in the Mobile and IoT sectors. Develop and execute partner acquisition strategies in collaboration with the marketing team, focused on sustainable, long-term growth. Engage prospective partners with compelling presentations of my client's value proposition. Follow up on marketing campaigns and inbound leads to convert opportunities into revenue.
  • Account Management: Serve as the main point of contact for newly onboarded partners, ensuring satisfaction and providing ongoing support. Work closely with commercial teams to deliver accurate pricing and solution guidance. Keep partners updated on the full product portfolio and share relevant market feedback with sales, commercial, and leadership teams. Foster deep relationships with key stakeholders across partner organisations.
  • Channel Strategy & Growth: Support the Head of Channel in defining and delivering a robust channel development strategy, including setting goals, KPIs, and incentive structures. Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and new technologies in the Mobile and IoT space. Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, business support, and commercial to ensure smooth execution of channel initiatives.
  • Reporting & Insights: Provide regular reports on partner performance, pipeline activity, and forecasts to senior management. Use insights and data to refine strategy, improve processes, and maximise partner lifecycle value. Track key performance indicators to measure success and identify areas for optimisation.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in channel sales or partner development, ideally within telecoms or technology, with a focus on Mobile and IoT.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow both existing relationships and new business.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels.
  • Commercially astute, with strong negotiation skills and a focus on driving revenue.
  • Self-motivated, strategic, and results-oriented, with the ability to manage time and priorities independently.
  • Experience developing channel strategies and tracking performance against targets.
  • Strong communicator, able to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desirable Skills

  • Prior experience with IoT connectivity, mobile SIMs, and tariff-based services.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and partner enablement tools.
  • Knowledge of UK telecom regulations and competitive landscape.
