Technical SurveyorSalary: £52,000 DOE + Company Vehicle/Allowance + Bonus + BenefitsLocation: ClitheroeThe companyA growing specialist contractor delivering projects across roofing, cladding, rainscreen systems and fire remediation throughout the UK.With continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, they're looking for a technically minded Technical Surveyor to join the team and play a key role in taking projects from initial site survey through design, drawings and materials procurement.
The RoleThis is a hands-on technical role suited to someone who enjoys a mixture of site and office-based work. You'll act as the link between site, the drawing office and suppliers, making sure projects are accurately surveyed, technically designed and ready for delivery.
You'll be involved in: Carrying out detailed roof and building envelope surveys across commercial and industrial projects.
Taking accurate measurements and producing survey notes, sketches and photographic records.
Translating survey information into technical designs, system layouts and material schedules.
Working with the Draughtsman to coordinate and review construction drawings.
Selecting appropriate metal roofing and cladding systems, profiles and components.
Producing accurate materials schedules and supporting procurement through to delivery.
Working with manufacturers, suppliers, clients and contractors to resolve technical queries and design issues.
Providing technical support to site teams throughout installation.
Managing multiple projects and ensuring drawings, materials and technical information are delivered on time.
What We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone with experience in a surveying, technical or design role within metal roofing, cladding, flat roofing or the wider building envelope sector.
You'll ideally have: Strong experience carrying out measured roof/building surveys.
Knowledge of profiled sheeting, standing seam, secret-fix or composite panels.
Experience with construction drawings and materials schedules.
Good understanding of architectural/structural drawings.
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Excellent attention to detail and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
Confidence working both on site and in an office environment. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
AutoCAD, PASMA/IPAF, Building Regulations knowledge or experience with design-and-build projects would be advantageous but aren't essential.
