A specialist recruitment agency is supporting a well-established manufacturing client in the search for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their growing team based in Farnborough. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on quality professional with experience in capital equipment manufacturing, ideally within production, FMCG, or industrial environments, with food industry experience highly desirable.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that products and services are delivered to the highest quality standards through the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of robust quality management systems. You will work cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure compliance, drive process improvements, and maintain operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with relevant external standards, including ISO 9001
- Maintain and improve quality management systems across manufacturing operations
- Ensure processes are in place so all products entering and leaving production meet required quality standards
- Lead projects to improve and optimise quality processes and procedures
- Support and manage the transfer of production between manufacturing sites
- Ensure business-critical processes are documented, followed, and continuously improved
- Act as an internal quality auditor and support certification requirements
- Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions
- Produce quality performance reports and analyse trends to support data-led decision-making
- Promote a culture of quality and compliance across the organisation
- Support health and safety compliance within quality-related activities
- Proven experience in a Quality Engineering or Quality Management role
- Experience working within capital equipment manufacturing
- Background in production factory, FMCG, or industrial manufacturing environments
- Strong knowledge of quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies
- Demonstrated experience implementing and optimising quality processes
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
- Ability to analyse data and make informed, evidence-based decisions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications
- Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Experience within food manufacturing or regulated industries
- Experience working with capital equipment or machinery manufacturing
- Internal auditing experience (ISO or similar standards)
- Salary of £40,000 - £45,000, depending on experience
