Salary/Package: £35,000 - £40,000, Mon to Friday/No weekends, Company Vehicle/Fuel Card, 30 days holiday including Banks, Wellbeing programme, Life assurance & more.
Purpose of the role
The Depot Manager is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of the Aberdeen depot, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. The primary responsibilities will involve managing and auditing the operational aspects, including delivery routing, stock control, productivity, and ensuring compliance with health and safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Depot Operations:
- Oversee all depot activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Plan and manage workloads, routes, and schedules to meet service requirements
- Monitor performance against KPIs, budgets, and operational targets
- Ensure depot facilities, equipment, and vehicles are maintained to required standards
- Lead, motivate, and manage depot staff, including drivers and operational teams
- Promote a positive safety culture and high standards of conduct
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and industry regulations
- Carry out risk assessments and implement safe systems of work
- Ensure all staff receive appropriate training, inductions, and toolbox talks
- Maintain accurate records for audits and inspections
You must have or hold:
- Proven experience in depot management within fuel sector or previous management experience (Essential)
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of fleet management systems
- Driving Licence
Progression through the company is possible, with in-depth experience of the role being an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided where required.
