The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Operations Engineer to join our engineering team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified mechanical engineer with strong knowledge of gas, petrol, or diesel engines to play a key role in maintaining and optimising power generation installations across customer sites. Working within a supportive and highly skilled team, you will be responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring maximum equipment performance and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on installations
  • Diagnose faults and undertake reactive maintenance activities
  • Ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably
  • Optimise operational performance to improve productivity and reduce downtime
  • Deliver excellent customer service while working on client sites
  • Complete all work in line with company safety standards and procedures
  • Participate in the on-call rota and respond to out-of-hours call-outs when required

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • ONC/D, NVQ Level 2, City & Guilds Level 2, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Motor Vehicle Studies, or a related discipline
  • Experience as a time-served technician within a mechanical engineering environment
  • A minimum of three years' relevant engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of gas, petrol, or diesel engines
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • A full UK driving licence
