About the Role
My client is seeking a proactive, commercially minded, and experienced BMS Bureau Manager to lead the development, growth, and daily operations of their 24/7 BMS remote services and energy & carbon reporting bureau. This pivotal position combines strategic leadership with operational oversight to ensure exceptional service delivery, strong financial performance, and continuous service improvement. You will lead a dedicated bureau team, oversee all aspects of service delivery, and support the wider organisation in helping customers understand and optimise their utility usage, carbon emissions, and operating costs contributing directly to their net zero goals. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven leader who can balance commercial strategy with hands-on operational management in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and inspire the Bureau Team to drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Empower your team to consistently deliver high-quality service, identify and resolve process challenges, and ensure an outstanding customer experience at every touchpoint.
- Deliver a Business Plan focused on the consistent and robust growth of the Bureau function.
- Develop and implement new chargeable Bureau services that increase revenue and enhance client retention.
- Oversee the contractual delivery of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensure internal processes, legislation, and contract requirements are met.
- Collaborate with marketing to produce customer communications and service collateral.
- Support the Commercial Team in selling existing and new Bureau services.
- Monitor KPIs to assess service efficiency and quality; use data to identify trends and drive improvements.
- Manage the 24/7 bureau ticketing system including leading commercial relationship with external software provider.
- Manage the 24/7 on call procedure and process.
- Manage graphics representation of BMS on Carbon cloud.
- Oversee remote connections to ensure clients buildings have continual connectivity, liaising with external IT and connected solutions providers.
- Ensure financial performance meets budget targets, including prompt invoicing and contract updates.
- Build strong internal relationships across departments and external relationships with supply chain partners and customers.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in leading service teams, ideally in the energy, utilities, or public sector environment.
- Strong leadership and coaching capabilities to drive high performance and team development.
- Commercial acumen with experience of managing budgets, developing services, and delivering strategic plans.
- Experience with Trend and Tridium including IQvision.
- Excellent IT knowledge including connected networks and Smart Buildings.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally.
- Analytical skills with the ability to use data insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Experience in managing service delivery and performance against KPIs and SLAs.
- High level of organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency with relevant software tools and systems, including Microsoft Office Suite.
