Our client is a well-established and highly respected engineering contractor specialising in the design, fabrication, and installation of façade systems and complete building envelope solutions. They deliver complex, technically challenging projects across the UK, typically ranging from £5m–£25m in tender value, working alongside leading architects, developers, and main contractors. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to strengthen relationships within the industry and help secure future project opportunities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a well-established façade and building envelope contractor working on large-scale, technically challenging projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and generating tender opportunities by developing strong relationships with architects, consultants, developers, and main contractors within the façade and building envelope sector. The role will involve a mixture of home-based working (approximately 60%) alongside regular client meetings, networking, and industry engagement across London.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with architects, specifiers, consultants, and main contractors
  • Identifying and securing tender opportunities for façade and building envelope projects
  • Generating new business leads through networking and industry contacts
  • Attending meetings with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders
  • Monitoring market activity and upcoming construction projects
  • Supporting pre-construction and estimating teams with pipeline opportunities
  • Representing the company professionally at industry events and client meetings
  • Maintaining and growing a strong network within the façade industry
Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years' experience within the façade/building envelope industry
  • Previous experience in a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, Account Manager, or similar client-facing role
  • Strong understanding of façade systems and construction processes
  • Established industry relationships with contractors, architects, and consultants
  • Proven ability to generate project opportunities and tender enquiries
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
  • No formal qualifications are required; industry experience and contacts are considered more important.
