As Audio Prep / De-prep Supervisor, you will oversee the preparation, de-preparation and testing of equipment before and after it is sent to events while supporting coordinating a team of prep technicians. You will work a 5 day week which could involve weekends. This is an ideal role for a senior prep technician or an experienced audio technician / sound engineer, looking to take a step into a senior role within the touring industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing activity within the prep and de-prep department
- Coordinating equipment between departments for upcoming events
- Overseeing rack builds and system preparation
- Supervising testing and fault finding of equipment
- Supporting FOH sound engineers with system preparation
- Supervising a team of 15 warehouse technicians
- Carrying out quality checks on prepared equipment
- Planning daily prep schedules for upcoming projects
- Assigning technicians to projects and prep tasks
- Ensuring equipment is ready for dispatch and meets operational standards
Requirements:
- Background in live events as either a warehouse prep technician or sound engineer.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and coordinate teams of staff
- Strong technical knowledge of audio systems (A good understanding of equipment from brands such as Digico, Avid, SSL, Allen & Heath, L-acoustics, D&B would be highly beneficial)
- Good knowledge of the touring industry (preferred)
- Knowledge of Dante networking
- Good organisation and planning skills
- Willingness to work weekends where required
- Right to work within the UK
