A well-established engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a Workshop Operative to join its production team and support the manufacture, assembly, and testing of new machinery and spare parts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a practical, hands-on approach who enjoys working in an engineering environment and takes pride in producing high-quality work. You will be based within the company’s workshop, working as part of a close-knit engineering team and contributing to the successful build and dispatch of new machines. The role is primarily workshop-based, although there may be occasional requirements to attend customer or supplier sites, undertake training, or support investigations relating to customer complaints and aftercare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture and assemble new machines and spare parts on the shop floor
  • Use tools and production equipment safely and effectively
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and checked regularly
  • Test new machines before dispatch
  • Follow company health and safety procedures at all times
  • Support non-conformance and customer complaint reviews
  • Work closely with colleagues to maintain high standards of production and quality
  • Support and mentor new apprentices where required
  • Identify personal training needs and communicate these
