An established manufacturing business is seeking a skilled Fabricator to join its production team. This role would suit an experienced individual with a strong background in metal fabrication who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and maintaining excellent standards within a workshop environment.
The successful candidate will be involved in fabrication, assembly, and general production activities, supporting efficient operations while adhering to quality, health, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assembly: Assemble and pack products in accordance with instructions provided by the Supervisor or Director of Operations.
- Stores & Stock Control: Organise and move stock as instructed by the Supervisor or Director of Operations. Support efficient stock movement within production and stores areas.
- Metal Work & Fabrication (certified personnel only): Carry out metal fabrication duties including cutting using a guillotine, folding using a CNC press brake, notching and punching components, MIG welding, grinding, fitting, and final assembly.
- Production - General: Operate machinery and equipment in line with company policies and quality standards. Maintain a strong work rate while consistently producing high-quality work. Inspect products in accordance with established inspection standards and procedures. Identify and report product defects, machinery faults, or workshop concerns promptly. Keep the work area safe, clean, and well organised at all times. Accurately complete production and quality records as required.
- Health, Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all company Health & Safety procedures and maintain daily awareness of safety within the workplace. Proactively report Health & Safety issues or concerns. Follow and contribute to all Integrated Management System (IMS) procedures relevant to the department.
- Driving & Equipment Operation (authorised personnel only): Operate lifting equipment when appropriately authorised. Drive a company long-wheelbase Transit van for local collections and deliveries as required.
- General Duties: Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Director of Operations.
Accountable to the Director of Operations. Works cooperatively with colleagues across the business to support production objectives.
Working HoursMonday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm; Alternate Fridays: 8:00am - 1:00pm or 4:00pm.
Holiday Entitlement20 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Additional holiday awarded for long service.
