About Us

We're an established mechanical and electrical engineering contractor with specialist fire, security, CCTV and data capabilities, trading since 1994. We're a true systems integrator - designing, installing, commissioning and supporting systems for major construction projects nationwide.

About the Role

We're looking for a Fire & Security Project Engineer to join our team. This is a project engineering role, not a maintenance role - we don't do maintenance. You'll be getting systems installed on site, either through subcontractors or hands-on where the job is small enough, then commissioning them and handing them over to the client.

Our projects are all new build - schools, football stadiums, residential blocks, office blocks and commercial developments. Work comes in nationwide, currently concentrated around the M62 corridor and East Midlands down to Birmingham, with the occasional job further afield. Where travel requires it, overnight stays and food allowance are covered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage fire and security installations on site, working with subcontractors or carrying out smaller installs directly.
  • Commission fire and security systems and hand them over to the client.
  • Work across a range of standard industry systems - Apollo, C-Tec, Paxton, Hikvision, Galaxy, Texecom, Advanced, GK, Oilisec and door entry.
  • Work to project programmes and deliver on time.
  • Maintain the health, safety and quality standards our accreditations are built on.
  • Work flexibly around site requirements, including occasional early starts, later finishes and overnight stays.

Requirements

  • Experience installing and commissioning fire and security systems.
  • ECS card and IPAF - and comfortable working on live construction sites.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide, including overnight stays.
  • Own hand tools (specialist equipment is supplied by us).
  • Reliable, honest and hardworking - we back people who apply themselves.
  • Good communication skills and a professional approach with clients and subcontractors.

Desirable:

  • Experience across both fire and security (we're happy with a stronger bias either way).
  • Experience on commercial new-build projects.

Why Join Us?

  • No call-out. No standby. No maintenance. This is pure project work.
  • Variety - one week a school, the next a stadium or a residential block. No two projects are the same.
  • Nationwide exposure with travel and overnight costs covered.
  • Strong overtime rates - time and a half in the week and Saturday mornings, double time Saturday afternoons and Sundays.
  • Training provided on any system a client specifies that isn't in our standard kit.
  • Real progression - perform well and there's a genuine route into Project Management.
  • An established, heavily accredited business - ISO certified, NICEIC approved, ECA and JIB members, Constructionline Platinum, RoSPA Gold.
  • A proper interview - we meet our engineers face to face before we hire them.

How to Apply

If you're a Fire & Security Engineer who wants project variety, no call-out and a genuine route into project management, we'd like to hear from you. Please submit your CV today.
