Position: Service Engineer

Location: Preston

Salary: £40,000

Client Overview:

Our client, established in 2016, is a service-based reseller of glue application machines, primarily serving the FMCG industry. With a team of 5 employees, the company has agreements with leading OEMs and provides service contracts for existing machines.

Role:

Mechanical engineering background required.

  1. Soldering metal to form parts
  2. Drilling & tapping
  3. Changing of bearings & belts
  4. Dealing with Pumps
  5. Cleaning down Glue guns
  6. Work in the workshop, addressing mechanical and electrical faults in packaging machinery.
  7. Specialize in fault finding on capital equipment, including applications like glue guns.
  8. Approximately 30% of the role is workshop-based, with the remaining 70% involving travel to customer sites.
  9. Travel may require occasional nights away and long days. However, they make this up with days in lieu/time back.

Responsibilities include wiring and re-wiring, soldering cables, assembling OEM equipment, installation, repair, breakdowns, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and equipment testing. Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and identify solutions for equipment problems.

Qualifications:

  1. Some mechanical/electrical qualification (L2/L3).
  2. Valid driving license is essential.
