The Role
An excellent opportunity exists for a proactive Business Development Manager to join a national provider of fire and security solutions. This role focuses on the vibrant SME market across Newcastle and the Northeast region.
You will be responsible for generating new business while nurturing and growing an existing portfolio of accounts. The core focus is on the sale of maintenance contracts and small works projects, providing essential protection services to a diverse commercial client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively hunt for and secure new business opportunities within the SME market across your Newcastle and Northeast territory.
- Manage and develop an existing book of client accounts, ensuring high retention and identifying growth opportunities.
- Sell fire and security maintenance contracts, service agreements, and small works projects.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and key specifiers.
- Develop a robust pipeline and manage the full sales cycle from lead to close.
- Represent the company professionally in the field and contribute to team goals.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams to ensure smooth project handover.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven track record in a BDM or sales role, ideally within the fire, security, or building services sectors.
- Experience selling to the SME market is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of service and maintenance contracts, alongside project-based small works.
- Demonstrable ability in both new business development and account management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, organised, and driven to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Full UK driving licence.
