Family run business The Opportunity We are recruiting for an experienced CPCS Appointed Person to join an established engineering business operating within the heavy lifting, machinery installation and industrial relocation sectors. This is an office-based position suited to an individual with a strong background in lifting operations, excellent technical planning capabilities and experience producing detailed lift plans using CAD. You will play a key role in the planning and coordination of complex lifting activities, supporting projects across a diverse range of industries, including manufacturing, nuclear and construction. Key Responsibilities Produce detailed lift plans using CAD, ensuring all lifting activities are planned safely and efficiently. Prepare comprehensive Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for lifting operations and engineering projects. Plan and coordinate lifting activities involving cranes, heavy machinery and specialist lifting equipment. Support projects involving factory relocations, machinery installations and equipment removal. Review technical drawings, lifting requirements and site information to determine suitable lifting methods. Liaise with internal engineering teams, project managers and clients to ensure lifting plans meet operational and safety requirements. Ensure all lifting documentation complies with relevant health and safety legislation, industry standards and best practices. Provide technical input throughout the planning stages of complex lifting and machinery movement projects. Essential Requirements Valid CPCS Appointed Person qualification - essential. Proven experience within the lifting industry, ideally involving cranes, heavy machinery or industrial lifting operations. Strong CAD experience, with the ability to produce accurate and detailed lift plans. Demonstrable experience preparing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS). Sound understanding of lifting regulations, safe systems of work and relevant health and safety requirements. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
