A well-established and growing civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to support the delivery of an £8 million commercial build scheme in Liverpool. This project consists of a large industrial / warehouse (“shed”) build and is a key scheme for a new client, making it essential that the appointed engineer is technically strong, reliable, and capable of managing setting out and site engineering duties with minimal supervision.

The Role:

  • Setting out and surveying for a 52-week ÂŁ8m scheme
  • Managing QA, as-builts, and site documentation
  • Working closely with the Site Manager and subcontractors
  • Ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings and specifications
  • Supporting programme delivery and resolving technical issues on site
  • Maintaining high standards of health & safety and quality

The Candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering / commercial or industrial builds
  • Strong background in groundworks, infrastructure, and structural packages
  • Confident in setting out using own kit (GPS / Total Station)
  • Able to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
