SHEQ Advisor – Health, Safety, Environment & Quality

Salary: £45,000 + Bonus

Location: Hazel Grove, Stockport

The Opportunity

Are you an HSEQ professional looking for your next opportunity with a growing business where you can make a genuine difference?

We are working with an established and growing facade business looking to recruit an HSEQ Advisor to support its Health, Safety, Environment and Quality function.

Working closely with the HSEQ Manager and teams across the business, you will play an important role in putting company standards into practice, promoting a positive HSEQ culture and ensuring procedures are followed across office, production and project environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands‑on role, combining practical inspections and advice with audits, compliance and management system support.

Experience within construction, manufacturing or the facade sector would be beneficial, but candidates from other industries with relevant HSEQ experience will also be considered.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out HSEQ inspections across project sites, production facilities and workplace environments, recording findings and following up on actions.
  • Providing practical advice on health and safety requirements, risk assessments, safe working practices and compliance.
  • Supporting accident and incident reporting, investigations and the implementation of lessons learned.
  • Assisting with internal and external audits, certification assessments and ongoing improvements to HSEQ management systems.
  • Maintaining accurate HSEQ documentation, registers, training records and compliance databases.
  • Monitoring subcontractor competence, training, insurance documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Supporting environmental procedures, including waste management, pollution prevention, recycling and resource efficiency.
  • Assisting with quality assurance activities, inspection and test plans, handovers and the reporting of non-conformances.

About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who have a practical approach to HSEQ and can confidently communicate with colleagues, contractors and site teams.

You will ideally have:

  • Practical experience in a Health, Safety, Environment and Quality role, with exposure to more than one HSEQ discipline.
  • A recognised NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification.
  • Experience carrying out workplace inspections, maintaining compliance records and supporting management systems.
  • Good communication skills, with the confidence to offer advice and challenge concerns constructively.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when maintaining documentation and preparing reports.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn digital HSEQ systems.
  • A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14008 or ISO 45001, internal auditing, construction or manufacturing would be advantageous, but is not essential for every candidate.

What's on Offer?

  • £45,000 salary
  • Travel expenses covered for work‑related site visits.
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Pension & Health scheme
  • Potential for hybrid working as the role develops.
  • Working hours: Monday–Thursday, 8am–5pm | Friday, 8am–3pm
  • Excellent long‑term progression opportunity

Interested?

If you're an HSEQ Advisor looking for a varied role where you can apply your existing experience, develop your skills and contribute to a growing business, we’d like to hear from you.
