Electrical Installation Engineer - Controls
Location: London with UK-wide travel
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 DOE + Benefits
I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Installer / Electrical Installation Engineer to join a growing team, working on electrical installation projects across London and occasionally further afield across the UK.
This is predominantly an electrical installation role, so you don’t need to be a BMS engineer. However, experience working with control panels, relay logic and electrical controls would be a real advantage.
The role would suit an electrician or electrical installer who has worked within plantrooms or similar environments and is comfortable reading electrical drawings, wiring panels and carrying out fault finding on control circuits.
The Role
- Electrical installation within plantrooms and commercial/industrial environments
- Installation, wiring and termination of control panels
- Working with electrical control systems and associated equipment
- Reading and working from electrical drawings and schematics
- Relay logic and control circuit wiring
- Electrical fault finding and troubleshootingTesting and commissioning of electrical installations
- Identifying and rectifying wiring and control issues
- Working alongside project engineers and other site teams
- Travelling to sites across London and occasionally UK-wide
About You
I’m looking for someone with a strong electrical installation background who also has a good understanding of controls.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Previous experience as an Electrical Installer, Electrician or Electrical Engineer
- Experience working with control panels, ideally within plantrooms
- Good understanding of electrical wiring and control circuits
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
- Experience with relay logic and electrical fault finding
- A practical, hands‑on approach to installation work
- Good attention to detail and a strong understanding of electrical safety
- Willingness to travel when required
BMS experience isn't required for this position. If you're an experienced electrical installer who understands controls and can fault find your own work, I'd be keen to hear from you.
