My client is a family-owned company and the UK's largest independent distributor of pneumatic, hydraulic, and fluid power solutions. Established over 50 years ago, they stock and distribute more than 20,000 products. With nationwide reach and a fantastic industry reputation for technical support and customer service, they are now looking to add an Internal Sales Support Engineer to their team.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Provide internal technical and sales support to customers and external sales engineers
  • Prepare accurate quotations and pricing based on customer specifications and requirements
  • Process, track, and manage sales orders to ensure timely and accurate fulfilment
  • Handle inbound customer enquiries, offering product guidance and application support
  • Qualify customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and solutions
  • Maintain accurate customer records within CRM systems
  • Support sales growth through proactive follow-ups and customer engagement
  • Liaise with suppliers, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure seamless order delivery
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes and internal workflows

  • Experience in internal sales, sales support, or a technical engineering environment
  • Strong communication skills with confidence in phone-based customer interaction
  • Good technical understanding and the ability to interpret customer requirements
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple tasks
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Confident working with various levels of clients, colleagues, and suppliers
  • Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong customer-service ethos
  • Previous experience in fluid power, hydraulics, pneumatics, or industrial components would be advantageous, but is not essential for the right candidate
