An opportunity is available for an entry-level Lighting Design Engineer to join a specialist lighting design team providing technical support and project design services across a wide range of commercial and residential projects.
The role involves producing lighting layout plans, supporting lighting control design work, and assisting with technical queries relating to a broad product range. Working from initial concept through to project completion, the position offers exposure to all stages of the design and delivery process.
The successful candidate will also liaise with internal teams, external sales staff, contractors, and end clients to ensure projects progress efficiently and meet required specifications. Telephone-based technical support will form part of the role, alongside the preparation and annotation of CAD drawings.
Key responsibilities
- Produce lighting layout designs using software such as Relux, Dialux, and AutoCAD
- Develop lighting control designs and present them using CAD software
- Provide technical support via telephone on product-related queries
- Manage projects from initial concept through to completion
- Follow up on project progress with internal and external stakeholders
- Produce fully marked-up CAD drawings using AutoCAD
