Job Title: Field Service Engineer (Mechanical Bias) – Liquid Filling Machinery Location: M4/M5 Corridor Manchester to Bristol Salary: £45,000 + Overtime (OTE £70,000) Benefits: Company Car (choice), 25 Days Holiday, 5% Pension, Laptop, Phone, Full Sick Pay About the Company We are recruiting on behalf of a major Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specializing in state-of-the-art liquid filling machines, servicing some of the biggest names in the beverage industry, including the dairy and juice sectors. Our client is a global leader in sustainable and recyclable packaging solutions, delivering cutting-edge technology to enhance production and minimize environmental impact. The Role We are looking for a mechanically biased Field Service Engineer to join a high-performing UK service team. You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, breakdown response, and repair of capital equipment found in beverage production environments across the UK. This is a UK-wide field role, which may involve up to 2 weeks away from home per month, with the possibility of weekend work (paid overtime). Key Responsibilities Installation, commissioning, and servicing of liquid filling machinery at customer sites. Reactive breakdown support and routine maintenance. Mechanical work including bearings, gearboxes, belts, shafts, motors, and pulleys. Fault-finding on pneumatics and electrical systems. Reading and interpreting electrical diagrams, wiring, and basic control panels. Some experience with PLC systems (advantageous but not essential). Building strong customer relationships and representing the brand to a high standard. What We\’re Looking For Apprentice-trained engineer (mechanical or multi-skilled). Experience working in a production, manufacturing, or FMCG environment. Strong understanding of capital equipment and how machinery interacts within a production line. Able to work independently across the UK and committed to staying away when required. Service engineering background or hands-on site-based maintenance experience.
