This is an opportunity for an ambitious, technically strong façade engineering professional to take the lead in developing and growing a specialist consultancy service.
We’re looking for a Head of Façade Engineering to lead technical delivery, develop client relationships and help shape the future direction of a growing multidisciplinary consultancy.
This isn't simply another senior engineering position. It's an opportunity to influence strategy, mentor a talented team, win new business and build a service with real long-term potential.
THE ROLE
You’ll take ownership of façade engineering projects from RIBA Stage 1 through to Stage 7, working across a diverse portfolio of complex, multi-million-pound developments.
Projects span residential, commercial, education, healthcare, data centres and specialist developments, with a focus on delivering innovative, compliant and high-quality façade solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading façade engineering projects through all design and construction stages.
- Acting as the technical authority, overseeing quality assurance and engineering standards.
- Developing, mentoring and supporting engineers across the team.
- Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
- Supporting business development, winning new work and expanding the consultancy's market presence.
- Contributing to recruitment, team growth and the wider business strategy.
- Working collaboratively with specialists across fire engineering, acoustics, building physics and building surveying.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You’ll be an experienced façade engineering consultant with the technical expertise, commercial awareness and leadership ability to take a growing service to the next level.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- 5-10 years experience within façade engineering consultancy.
- A strong track record delivering complex projects across design and construction.
- Experience reviewing technical work and leading or mentoring other engineers.
- Excellent client-facing and project management skills.
- An understanding of façade performance, compliance and building safety regulations.
- Professional membership, with chartered status achieved or actively being pursued.
Experience developing teams, winning work, façade remediation, cladding compliance or contributing to industry initiatives would be a major advantage.
THE PACKAGE
