A well-established material handling company supplying and supporting forklift trucks and warehouse equipment to a wide range of customers is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its service team. This role is primarily field based, with some on-site work, and involves maintaining and repairing a fleet of trucks across the Burton upon Trent / Chesterfield area.
The Role
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of forklift trucks and warehouse equipment
- Working on a variety of equipment including electric, LPG and diesel counterbalance, pallet, and reach trucks
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs efficiently and safely
- Completing planned maintenance, inspections and breakdowns
- Representing the company professionally at customer sites
- Managing your workload independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety
Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Strong, hands-on experience working with forklift trucks
- Mechanical engineering background
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Highly Desirable:
- Experience with Still or Linde equipment
- LOLER Certification
- Multi-skilled mechanical/electrical/hydraulics Training
Ongoing training and support is provided. Manufacturer or product training available to develop skills across a wider range of equipment.

Hours
Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm. Overtime available.
Tools
