With a strong reputation across the UK and Ireland and continued investment in both people and technology, they are now seeking a Mechanical Service Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for a varied role combining workshop duties with field service work.
Location – Corby (UK & Ireland Travel Required)
£43,000 - £47,000 DOE + Overtime + Bonus + £6,300 Car Allowance
Our client is offering a competitive salary depending on experience, alongside a Bonus Scheme, £6,300 Car Allowance, 7% Pension Contribution, 25 days holiday plus bank, Mobile Phone, Travel Time, Overtime Opportunities and Full Product Training, including overseas manufacturer training. Responsibilities- Installing, commissioning, servicing and maintaining a range of packaging machinery at customer sites throughout the UK and Ireland.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults to minimise customer downtime.
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown support.
- Reading and interpreting mechanical assembly drawings, technical documentation and electrical schematics.
- Providing technical support and operator training to customers where required.
- Completing service reports and maintaining accurate documentation following each visit.
- Working closely with customers and internal departments to ensure the highest levels of service are delivered.
- Attending product and technical training courses, including occasional overseas training.
- Supporting workshop activities when not attending customer sites.
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship or HNC/HND qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience servicing, maintaining or installing packaging machinery or similar industrial machinery.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
- Workshop experience including welding and the use of general engineering equipment would be advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Electrical fault-finding knowledge, PLC experience or familiarity with drives, servos and robotics would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and Ireland, including overnight stays when required.
