My client is seeking an experienced BMS Bureau Engineer with strong capabilities in Trend systems to join their growing technical team. This role is primarily bureau-based, monitoring and optimising building performance remotely, with occasional visits to sites for complex diagnostics, commissioning, or system verification. You’ll play a pivotal part in ensuring our clients’ buildings run efficiently, sustainably, and reliably. If you enjoy problem-solving, analysing performance data, and delivering high-quality engineering support, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career within a forward-thinking building services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse Trend BMS systems (Trend 963, IQ Vision, IQ Engineering) to identify alarms, faults, and energy-saving opportunities.
  • Carry out remote fault diagnosis, optimisation works, and commissioning adjustments.
  • Attend occasional site visits for in-depth troubleshooting, validation, and maintenance tasks.
  • Produce clear system reports, performance summaries, and recommendations for clients.
  • Work collaboratively with on-site engineers, FM teams, and stakeholders to resolve issues and implement improvements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Trend platforms, software releases, and BMS best practices.
  • Support energy efficiency strategies through data-led insights and optimisation.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

  • Practical experience working with Trend BMS (Trend 963, IQ Vision, IQ Engineering).
  • Strong diagnostic ability (remote and on-site).
  • Ability to analyse system data and identify optimisation opportunities.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple systems and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Full UK driving licence (for occasional site visits).

Desirable:

  • Trend engineering certification.
  • Understanding of other BMS systems or protocols (e.g., BACnet).
  • Electrical or controls engineering qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC etc.).

Who We’re Looking For
