The Role:
As an Operations Engineer, you'll take responsibility for maintaining and repairing gas and diesel engine installations at client sites throughout the UK. Carrying out scheduled and reactive maintenance, you will undertake fault-finding both locally and remotely and play a key role in keeping systems running smoothly across a wide range of sites. You'll also diagnose technical issues, implement first-time fixes where possible, and ensure all work is completed in line with the manufacturer’s instructions and service schedules. Additionally, you will:
- Oversee the servicing and maintenance of engines and ancillary equipment
- Plan resources and parts for repairs
- Co‑ordinate with parts and service teams to support successful after‑sales contracts
- Liaise with contractors, third parties, and colleagues
About You:
To be considered as an Operations Engineer, you'll need:
- At a minimum, an ONC, NVQ Level II or City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in mechanical/electrical engineering, motor vehicle studies or equivalent
- To be a competent, time‑served technician, preferably with a minimum of 3 years' industrial mechanical/electrical experience
- Considerable skills and in-depth knowledge of gas/diesel engines
- Effective IT skills and competency in the use of Microsoft Office Packages
- A full, valid driving licence
