You\’ll play a vital role in delivering high standards of welfare and enrichment, including positive reinforcement training and daily well-being checks. Your contribution will directly support the high-quality science we conduct.

An understanding of the legislation governing the use of animals in research is important, along with strong communication skills – you\’ll be sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm with colleagues as part of a collaborative team.

At Sequani, we carry out a wide variety of regulatory toxicology studies, including reproductive and juvenile work. Our training programme is designed to build your confidence and capability across species and procedures, helping you become as skilled and versatile as possible.

What you can expect from the role:

  • Hands-on involvement in both procedural and husbandry tasks
  • Training and support to work across a range of species and study types
  • A collaborative environment focused on high standards of animal care and scientific quality
  • Variable working hours, including participation in a weekend rota:
  • Weekend working: 1 in 3 weekends
  • A physically active role requiring reliable transport due to shift patterns and occassional out of hours work

What we’re looking for:

  • Hands-on experience performing regulated procedures in a scientific setting
  • A genuine passion for animal care, with a strong commitment to the 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement)
  • A team player who communicates clearly and collaborates effectively
  • Confident working independently and taking initiative when needed
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to follow complex protocols precisely
  • A curious mind with a keen interest in the science behind our work
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to adjust to changing priorities
