We drive Precision Medicine and help reduce the burden on healthcare systems by delivering automated analysis, diagnosis and treatment solutions to healthcare providers and patients worldwide.
We are looking for a hands‑on Accountant with 3-4 years of experience in an accounting firm (practice) to join our Hinxton office. This is a highly operational role, suited to someone who enjoys being close to the numbers and involved in the day‑to‑day financial processes, while also contributing to monthly reporting and group requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Day-to-Day Accounting Operations
- Post and review journal entries (accruals, prepayments, payroll, intercompany)
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Accounts Payable (Suppliers)
- Manage supplier invoices: review, coding, and posting
- Prepare and execute payment runs
- Monitor supplier balances and collaborate with budget owners to resolve discrepancies
- Ensure proper approval workflows are followed
- Accounts Receivable (Customers)
- Issue and track customer invoices
- Monitor accounts receivable ageing
- Lead collections and collaborate with sales team to follow up with clients to ensure timely payments
- Reconcile incoming payments and investigate variances
- Month-End Close
- Support monthly closing process (cut‑off, accruals, reconciliations)
- Prepare supporting schedules and analysis
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data
- Compliance & Reporting
- Assist with VAT returns and statutory filings
- Support year‑end accounts and external audits
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP / IFRS where relevant
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls
- Contribute to the implementation or optimisation of finance systems
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 3-4 years of experience in an accounting firm (practice) in the UK, strong exposure to bookkeeping and financial reporting. Experience with multi‑entity environments, ideally exposure to intercompany accounting & experience with ERP systems (e.g. Xero, HubSpot).
- Hard Skills: Part‑qualified or newly qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA), good understanding of end‑to‑end accounting processes (AP/AR/GL), strong Excel skills: experience with accounting tools is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, comfortable working in a hands‑on, operational role, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, proactive and solution‑oriented mindset, good communication skills, especially for supplier/customer interactions.
