The Senior Project Manager will be involved in the whole lifecycle of complex new product development projects and programmes involving hardware and software from concept to volume production whilst managing risks, budgets, personnel, and objectives.

As a Sr. Project Manager, you will have at least 7-10 years’ experience in managing complex projects ideally for mobile communications solutions or similar technical landscape in a cross-functional setup.

Role

  • Be accountable for delivering high visibility technology solutions to scope, time, budget and quality working in partnership with Senior Technical Leads and Product Managers.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • Show willingness and capability to think laterally and pragmatically to find solutions to problems and remove roadblocks.
  • Have confidence to lead others while understanding when to escalate and ask for wider stakeholder input.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal) within all levels of a business.
  • Apply project management tools and techniques to achieve project objectives, meet schedule deadlines and budget targets.
  • Ensure approaches/techniques are used for building high performing teams, maintaining good team morale and a high level of operating efficiency.

Day To Day

Our customer base includes many different industries and markets around the world. Our complete TETRA and LTE solutions have been developed specifically for users in multiple sectors to face their critical communications challenges.

There is no such thing as a typical day here at Sepura. You will be supported by your manager and team, as well as collaborating with other departments across the business: HW Engineering, SW Engineering, Conformance, Product Strategy, Sales, Finance, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.

Project management activities

  • Apply advanced project management tools and techniques to achieve project objectives, meet schedule deadlines and budget targets.
  • Manage regular project meetings, ensuring accountability of team members and individuals in the wider business.
  • Ensure approaches/techniques are used for building high performing teams, maintaining good team morale and a high level of operating efficiency.
  • Ensure personal and team adherence to defined project management processes.
  • Capture and manage project risks and opportunities with appropriate planning of mitigations.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, ensuring an appropriate escalation of risks and issues.
  • Negotiate the availability of project resources with Resource Managers and other Project Managers, ensuring smoothed and optimised resource utilisation.
  • Demonstrate leadership by promoting trust, interaction, and shared commitment within teams.
  • Incorporate quality into the project delivery.

This job may involve occasional travelling so the successful applicant will have a full, clean driving licence, own car, and valid passport. Travel expenses will be paid. SC Clearance is desirable.

Must-haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Training in project management to a project manager level, with accredited certification through SAFe, IPMA, APM, Prince 2 or IPM or equivalent.
  • 7-10 years’ experience leading development project teams in a multi-discipline environment on complex product development projects and programmes, using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience of projects which have both hardware and software dependencies.
  • Experience managing and delivering software for embedded, platform and application product solutions in an Agile environment.
  • Experience with development software configuration and continuous integration workflows.
  • Understanding of the interdependencies between software and hardware elements and how to successfully deliver integrated product solutions.
  • Wider understanding of product development and realisation principles (Embedded software, Electronics) and methodologies to facilitate best practice for product design and development.
  • Documentation of project management processes and an ability to contribute to the optimisation, improvement, and maintenance of existing processes.
  • Experience using Statement of Work and Procurement Specifications while engaging with external design and solution providers to meet technical, commercial and manufacturing requirements.
  • Extensive experience of motivating teams and individuals to deliver.

Nice to have

  • Experience delivering projects involving complex telecommunications solutions (including but not limited to TETRA / 5G / LTE).
  • An understanding of and experience of projects that included regulatory approvals such as EMC and Safety.
  • Experience of working in a cost sensitive manufacturing environment and applying financial acumen and business cases to drive priorities.
  • Reasonable understanding of P&Ls.
  • Experience of multi-site / multi-cultural operation.
