We are on the lookout for a RF Team Leader to play a key role within the Research and Development team.
Role
As a RF Team Leader you will have responsibility for the management of the RF Electronics Development Team as well as contributing to development projects as a RF Design Engineer. You need a proven track record of RF electronics design, experience of leadership and/or mentoring a technical team, enjoy problem solving and be an excellent communicator.
Team Leadership & People Development
- Lead and support a team of RF design engineers, allocating resources effectively in line with agreed priorities.
- Provide strong technical leadership within the RF discipline, offering guidance and ensuring effective mentoring for junior team members.
- Conduct performance management and personal development reviews.
- Reinforce established processes and contribute to the development of engineering standards.
Technical Design & Delivery
- Lead the technical design and specification of baseband circuitry for radio terminal products, including end‑to‑end subsystem design and implementation.
- Integration with Baseband, Audio, and MMI subsystems, component specification, evaluation, and sourcing.
- Creation of design test documentation, schematic design and supervision of PCB layout.
Systems & Project Responsibilities
- Analyse technical requirements and translate them into robust engineering solutions.
- Resolve design and integration issues across multiple subsystems.
- Support type approval activities throughout certification processes.
- Provide technical assistance to end customers when required.
- Deliver regular progress updates and reports to senior stakeholders.

What you need to succeed
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Significant experience in RF design and development, ideally in telecommunications or critical communications.
- Strong understanding of RF systems and technologies, including design, simulation, and test methodologies.
- Proven hands‑on design experience and practical engineering intuition.
- Excellent communication and time‑management skills, with a track record of delivering high‑quality work on schedule.

- RF Tx/Rx architectures, RF receivers, RF transmitters, RF power amplifiers, EMC/EMI, frequency generators, antenna design & tuning, matching networks, broadband communications, LTE/4G/5G.
Tools & Methods
- Component selection and evaluation.
- Experience with RF simulation and modelling tools such as ADS, CST, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with RF testing procedures and facilities, including anechoic chambers and screening rooms.

Travel
This role involves some travel, so the successful applicant must have a full, clean driving licence, own car and a valid passport. Travel expenses will be paid.
