Sepura is looking for a dynamic and visionary Chief Product Architect to join our team.
The purpose of this role is to drive the development of industry-leading products and solutions. In this role, you will lead the technical architecture and design (Electronics, Mechanics and Software) of new and existing product offerings, collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams to build innovative and scalable products that shape the future of mission‑critical communications technology.
As Chief Product Architect, you will take ownership of the product architecture and technical direction from concept to delivery. You will work closely with Product Managers, Design Authorities, Engineering Leads, and other stakeholders to ensure that our product offerings are built in a cost‑effective manner that can be volume manufactured with the right technology, scalability, and user‑centric design principles.

Responsibilities
- Architect Product Solutions: Lead the architectural design and technical direction of all products within our portfolio, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business goals.
- Collaboration: Work cross‑functionally with product managers and engineering teams to translate product requirements into technical architecture and guide teams through technical decisions and trade‑offs.
- Innovate and Drive Change: Be at the forefront of technology, constantly exploring and adopting new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to drive product innovation and improve development processes.
- Technical Leadership: Lead a team of product architects, mentor and guide engineering teams, ensuring best practices in design, coding standards, system integration, and promote a culture of quality and innovation.
- Act as a trusted advisor and technical leader across the organisation.
- End‑to‑End Product Development: Own the architecture and design of products through the entire lifecycle, from conceptualisation and prototyping to production and scaling to volume manufacture.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with senior managers and other stakeholders to ensure the architecture and product strategy aligns with long‑term business objectives.
- Optimisation & Performance: Drive performance improvements and scalability for existing products while ensuring high‑quality user experiences.
- Documentation & Communication: Document product architecture, design decisions, and key technical strategies. Communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance: Work closely with QA and testing teams to define quality assurance standards and ensure the architecture supports long‑term product success.
What you need to succeed
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in product engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior architectural role, ideally within the communications industry.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in designing high‑availability, mechanically robust products for volume manufacture.
- Proficient in communications technologies, ideally 4G/5G, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, NTN.
- Understanding of networking, telecommunication systems, and real‑time communication protocols (e.g., VoIP, SIP, MCX).
- Experience with Qualcomm cellular and IoT modems.
- High‑speed digital design.
- RF engineering.
- Mechanical design.
- PCB layout.
- Embedded software, Linux and Android platforms.
- Cloud technologies – AWS, container application development (Docker).
- Proficiency in programming languages (Java, Python, C++).
Leadership Skills
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross‑functional teams, mentor engineers, and drive strategic decision‑making.
Problem‑Solving
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to break down complex technical challenges and devise effective and timely solutions.
Communication
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present and explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have
- Industry knowledge: Experience in the communications industry or mission‑critical communications.
- Experience with AI/ML: Familiarity with integrating AI or machine learning models into communications platforms.
