It’s an exciting time to join the Sepura team. We are seeking an RF Engineer to play an important role within our Research and Development team.

As an RF Engineer, you will contribute to development projects, leveraging your skills in RF electronics design. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in RF electronics design, enjoy problem‑solving, and be an excellent communicator. Responsibilities
  • Subsystem design and implementation
  • Integration with Baseband, Audio, and MMI subsystems
  • Component specification, evaluation, and sourcing
  • Schematic design and supervision of PCB layout
  • Support on design test documentation

Technical Responsibilities
  • Designing and developing RF systems at component level
  • Conducting performance tests and optimisations to meet demanding performance criteria
  • Performing integration and prototyping efforts to ensure seamless interaction between subsystems and the wider system architecture
  • Working closely with baseband, software, and audio teams to incorporate RF solutions into complete product designs
  • Producing high‑quality technical documentation, including design reports, test plans, and performance assessments
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in RF design and development, ideally within the telecommunications or critical‑communications sector
  • Strong understanding of RF systems and technologies, including design, simulation, and testing
  • Proven hands‑on design experience with practical engineering intuition
  • Excellent time‑management and communication skills, with a track record of delivering high‑quality work on schedule
Experience and Technical Skills
  • Core RF Expertise – You will have design‑level experience in at least 3 of the following areas:
    • RF Tx/Rx architectures
    • RF receivers & transmitters
    • RF power amplifiers
    • EMC/EMI
    • Frequency generators
    • Antenna design & tuning
    • Matching networks
    • Broadband communications
    • LTE/4G/5G
Tools & Engineering Methods
  • Component selection and evaluation skills
  • Experience using RF simulation and modelling tools such as ADS, CST, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with RF testing procedures, protocols, and facilities (e.g., anechoic chambers, screening rooms)
Technology Experience
  • TETRA – 100–900 MHz
  • GSM – 800/900/1800 MHz
  • LTE/4G/5G – 700–2700 MHz
  • GNSS – 1.6–2 GHz
  • WiFi – 2.4–6 GHz
Collaboration & Delivery Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate internal and external resources
  • Strong practical skills with sensitive PCBs, including component‑level rework and modifications
Nice to have
  • Experience with professional mobile radio (PMR) systems
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance in the telecommunications industry
  • Knowledge of advanced RF technologies, such as beamforming or MIMO
  • Proficiency in additional programming or scripting languages relevant to RF design and testing
