We have an opportunity for a Business Development Specialist.
Job Summary
The Business Development Specialist is accountable to the Business Development Director for driving all activities relating to business development functions for the Novocol Pharma CDMO and Drug Delivery Systems business. These functions include supporting market intelligence, lead generation, proposal generation, new project onboarding and marketing activities.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate activities including RFP responses, proposal generation and new customer due diligence in tandem with departmental leads.
- Engage with customers and partners to support new business development and new commercial scope of work activities.
- Lead new customer and new project onboarding activities to ensure seamless transition from business development phase award to project management kickoff.
- Support costing analysis for new project proposals and new business valuation.
- Coordinate and support internal and external business development meetings with local stakeholders and customers.
- Support the business development team by collecting project information and generating monthly KPI reports.
- Conduct research and generate reports and slide decks on relevant market trends, competitive landscape, and business topics to support senior leadership strategic decisions.
- Identify and research new business leads.
- Maintain and update CRM client database.
- Lead work with internal and external parties on the development of Novocol Pharma marketing written and graphic promotional materials including web content, trade show materials, articles, press releases, programs, newsletters, etc.
- Perform digital marketing activities including social media, white papers, sponsored content, etc.
- Lead and/or support special projects and assignments as required.
- Follow GMP and regulatory requirements, and ensure quality standards are met.
- Observe and support all safety guidelines and regulations.
- Demonstrate the Company Mission, Vision and Values Statements, policies, and current standard business practices.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Occasional international travel may be required to support business development and marketing activities.
Qualifications
- University Degree in Science / Engineering / Business / Marketing from a recognized academic institution.
- Business Degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of pharmaceutical or life sciences working experience with a breadth of roles such as in Sales, Marketing, R&D, Project Management or Operations.
- Customer management experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and knowledge of aseptic fill-finish CDMO services is a plus.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to positively interact with interdepartmental teams and lead collaborative activities.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and changing business demands.
- Demonstrated ability to drive results in fast paced, demanding environment.
- The ability to work independently in a demanding, multi-tasked environment using planning and organizational skills.
- A creative team player who is flexible, cooperative and demonstrates a desire to work within a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Project, Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Familiarity with CRM applications (i.e. Salesforce).
- Skilled in performing scientific research.
- Proficiency in financial analysis.
- Skilled in preparing and delivering complex reports and presentations.
