An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civils Construction Manager to oversee the delivery of a complex civils package on a live operational manufacturing site in Rotherham. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong site presence, exceptional contractor management skills, and the ability to safely deliver high-risk civils activities within a regulated environment. The successful candidate will take ownership of all civils works from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring delivery to programme, specification, quality standards, and health & safety requirements.
Scope of Works:
- CFA Piling
- Sheet Piling
- Excavation Works
- Contaminated Soil Removal
- Reinforced Concrete Slabs
- Reinforced Concrete Ground Beams
- Coordination of Follow-On Civils Activities
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all day-to-day civils activities on site.
- Manage subcontractors and contractor interfaces.
- Coordinate piling, excavation, concrete, and associated works.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved RAMS, drawings, specifications, and programme requirements.
- Drive high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
- Monitor progress and proactively manage risks, delays, and recovery plans.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and quality assurance activities.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Civils Construction Manager, Construction Manager, Senior Site Manager, or similar.
- Strong background in civil engineering and groundworks projects.
- Experience managing piling, excavation, reinforced concrete, and associated subcontractors.
- Excellent knowledge of CDM Regulations and UK health & safety legislation.
- Experience managing high-risk construction activities.
- Strong planning, sequencing, and contractor coordination skills.
- Ability to lead site teams and maintain programme performance.
Desirable:
- Experience working within live manufacturing, FMCG, pharmaceutical, industrial, or other regulated environments.
- Experience managing contaminated land or environmental compliance requirements.
- Procore or similar digital construction management platform experience.
- Temporary Works Coordinator or Temporary Works Supervisor training.
Qualifications:
- SMSTS
- CSCS Black Card (or equivalent)
- First Aid at Work (preferred)
- Relevant construction, engineering, or civils qualification
