SEP Rail Services is looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to our team in Middlesbrough. This role will support the commercial management of projects across rail, infrastructure and utilities. You will be responsible for cost management, valuations, variations and contract administration, working closely with project managers and site teams to make sure work is delivered on budget and commercially sound. Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial aspects of projects from award through to final account
- Prepare and submit valuations, payment applications and cost reports
- Assess and negotiate variations, compensation events and contract changes
- Maintain accurate cost records and produce regular financial forecasts
- Support tender and estimating processes where required
- Work with project managers and site teams to identify and manage commercial risk
- Administer contracts in line with NEC or other relevant contract forms
- Attend project and client meetings, providing clear commercial updates
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
- Experience in rail is preferred but not essential; candidates from wider infrastructure, civil engineering or construction backgrounds will be considered
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workload
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider delivery team
- MRICS qualified or working towards is desirable but not required
