As Sentry continues to expand its portfolio of managed farms across the UK, we are seeking a motivated, progressive Working Farm Manager to take responsibility for a 325-hectare arable business in Norfolk. About the Role

We are looking for a practical, commercially minded Farm Manager to lead all day-to-day farming operations on a well-invested, high-performing arable enterprise. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing cropping and environmental plans, managing staff and contractors, overseeing machinery and inputs, and ensuring the smooth running of the farm throughout the year. You will be fully supported by Sentry's wider management, procurement, and business teams, giving you access to expertise, benchmarking data, and professional development opportunities across our national network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day operational management and carrying out the field operations of the arable business.
  • Crop planning, establishment, and management across wheat, barley, oilseed rape, sugar beet, and peas.
  • Environmental stewardship delivery, including SFI and other schemes.
  • Management of on farm, contract and seasonal staff.
  • Budgeting, cost control, and performance monitoring using Omnia.
  • Maintenance of machinery, equipment, and fixed assets.
  • Compliance with assurance schemes and all relevant legislation.
  • Reporting and collaboration with Sentry's management and business support teams.

About You

  • Strong practical background.
  • Proven arable farming and management experience.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example.
  • Financial awareness and understanding of modern farm business management.
  • Proficient in Omnia and Microsoft Office (training provided if required).
  • BASIS and FACTS qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
  • A full UK driving licence is required.
