Sentry is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our small and friendly Accounts team at our Claydon office. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous accountancy practice experience who enjoys working with a variety of clients and wants a role with plenty of variety and responsibility.

What will you be doing?

  • Bookkeeping, including purchase and sales invoices and bank reconciliations
  • Preparing VAT reports
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts
  • Working with a range of businesses including partnerships, sole traders, limited companies and LLPs
  • Accruals, prepayments, profit & loss analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Producing cashflow and P&L reports
  • Visiting client farms where required
  • Supporting cashflow analysis and budget variance reporting
  • Payroll experience would be useful, although it isn't essential.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Is AAT Level 4 qualified or studying towards ACCA
  • Has experience using computerised accounts packages
  • Is organised, accurate and able to work to deadlines
  • Can communicate confidently with colleagues and clients
  • Agricultural knowledge would be an advantage, but isn't essential.
  • A driving licence is required as the role may involve travelling to client locations.
